London YouthMUN 2025

Dear Headteachers, Teachers and Faculty Advisors,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural edition of London Youth Model United Nations! Building on the success of the LSE High School MUN, YouthMUN now operates as part of a broader foundation to promote a deeper understanding of international relations and diplomacy while empowering younger generations—regardless of their background. Your constant support means the world to us, and it inspires us to pour our efforts back into creating an exceptional conference experience.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that London YouthMUN will be larger than ever, hosting delegates at some diplomatically significant venues across London. While committee sessions will continue to take place at the London School of Economics, these additional venues reflect our commitment to providing an enriching environment for our participants.

Our mission is not only to provide a platform for passionate and experienced MUN delegates but also to serve as a welcoming space for those who are new to MUN. Whether you’ve attended countless conferences or are stepping into diplomacy for the first time, YouthMUN is designed to be a learning experience for everyone. We remain committed to making #MUN4All.

This year, we are also expanding the scope of our committees to offer diverse clusters that cater to a range of interests—from science and history to economics. As always, we will feature our popular crisis committees and national government simulations, ensuring that delegates can explore topics that inspire their curiosity and ambition.

Although this is the first edition of London YouthMUN, it is built on over 11 years of experience hosting conferences and refining our approach to delivering an impactful and memorable event.

We are so excited to welcome you to London in March 2025!

Best wishes,

Alberto Martino

Secretary-General

Scholarship Opportunities

There are also a limited number of non-means tested scholarships offered to students registered as part of a delegation. Individual delegates are not eligible for the Scholarship. The official criteria will be released by late December.

Schools are required to register as a delegation before applying to the scholarship.

Committee Clusters

This year YouthMUN will have seven clusters to help guide delegates to committees that are to their interest. Through this, we aim to provide delegates an experience that they can draw on and develop skills close or adjacent to their future careers or degrees. Our seven clusters are as follows:

  1. Economic & Social Security

  2. Historical

  3. Global Health & Science

  4. International Security

  5. Law & Human Rights

  6. Regional Diplomacy

  7. National Assemblies & Government

The London YouthMUN Tour

The London Youth MUN Tour also includes visits to various schools and organisations throughout the UK and Europe. These visits feature interactive sessions, typically lasting 1-2 hours, where students dive into discussions on global issues, diplomacy, and leadership while developing their research and public speaking skills. The topics of these sessions are tailored to the interests and needs of each group, making them highly engaging and relevant.

Please indicate in the Registration form if your school/organisation is interested in the tour, which is free of charge, and our Under-Secretary-General for Outreach will be in touch to organise further.

Assistant Chair Programme

The Assistant Chair Programme offers an invaluable chance for sixth form students (Years 12-13 or equivalent) to shadow our chairs in the running of committees, all of whom are from well-known universities in the United Kingdom and are themselves seasoned delegates and chairs in the UK MUN Circuit.

We encourage schools to nominate students to the Assistant Chair Programme and students will be provided training (hybrid, on LSE campus or via Zoom) and mentorship. This year we will also be opening the programme to individual applicants as well (without needing to gain school approval but still subject to a accompanying guardian throughout the conference).

All nominations are still subject to an online interview.
